The big decison

Trust or will?

The single most important estate planning decision — and the one most families get wrong. Here's the quick comparison. The free guide goes deeper, with a worksheet for naming the people who'll carry it out.

path 1

Last Will & Testament

Probate

Goes through probate court. In Florida, typically 6–12 months.

Cost

Lower up front — but probate fees come out of the estate later.

privacy

Becomes public record. Anyone can look up what you left and to whom.

Best for

Smaller estates, no real property, straightforward family situations.

path 2

Revocable Living Trust

Probate

Avoids probate entirely. Assets transfer privately, usually in weeks.

cost

Higher up front — typically saves the estate far more on the back end.

privacy

Stays private. No court filing, no public record.

Best for

Homeowners, out-of-state property, blended families, minor children.

Flat-fee pricing

One price, quoted up front. No hourly billing.

Most estate attorneys bill by the hour and the final number is a surprise. Ours isn't. Here's the whole price list.

Common Questions

Quick answers, before you reach out.

What does an estate plan actually include?

At minimum: a will or trust that says where your assets go, a financial power of attorney so someone can handle money matters if you can't, a healthcare power of attorney and directive so someone can make medical decisions, and a HIPAA authorization so they can actually see your records. Most families need all five.

Do I really need a trust, or is a will enough?

It depends mostly on whether you own real property. If you own a home — especially in more than one state — a trust usually saves your family months of probate and thousands in fees. If you rent and your estate is simple, a will may be all you need. We'll tell you honestly which one fits, even when it's the cheaper one.

How much does it cost?

Wills are $199 for an individual, $249 for a couple. Trusts are $499 for an individual, $599 for a couple. That's the full price — flat fee, quoted up front, never hourly.

How long does the whole process take?

Most families go from first call to signed documents in about two weeks. The 15-minute discovery call comes first, then a 30–45 minute review call once your drafts are ready.

What should I have ready for our call?

The full legal names of your spouse and children, a rough list of what you own (home, accounts, life insurance, business interests), and a sense of who you'd trust to step in for you. You do not need account numbers, Social Security numbers, or property titles for the first call.

What if I already have a will from years ago?

Bring it. Old documents often name people who've moved, divorced, or passed away — and laws change. We'll review what you have for free and tell you whether it still does what you think it does.

Is my information safe?
